Does anyone read this?  If so, leave me a comment or something and let me know.  If not, this thing is rather pointless (especially since I keep a journal) and will probably go away.

My Favorite Things...

I just realized how much I'm craving puppy chow.  It's rather odd, I know.  However, it also amuses me.  I guess it's the combination of chocolate and peanut butter in something other than a Peanut Butter Cup.  Hmm.  Yum.

Once again, I ramble about something unimportant.  Well... I have to someplace... right?

Change

Everybody does it.
Sometimes, you don't see it coming.
Other times, it's inevitable.
More often than not, it causes pain.
Just the same, we embrace it.

Anyway, just some random thoughts swirling through my mind.

Blog-worthy? I think not.

So much to say... but none of it is blog-worthy. What is blog-worthy? Here's my take.

A lot of people call something "blog-worthy" when it merits discussion or it worth viewing by a large group of people. Thus, you find blogs about funny stories or by professionals (athletes, for example) that provide information into the minds of their writers. Cool, that's the whole point of blogs. The one thing that gets skipped over, though, is the idea that some things should not be typed in a blog. This is yet another denotation of "blog-worthy." Pouring one's heart and soul out into the great unknown of the internet is NOT the smartest decision... that nearly everyone makes at some point. Some things are better not published. It may be prehistoric, but pull out a journal and actually write! I promise, the process is very therapeutic.

Many of my thoughts aren't blog-worthy based on the second denotation I proposed. Details of one's thoughts are meant to be shared with people, not shown to them. Shown vs. share. Hmm... maybe that's another entry for me.

This whole discourse on the topic of blog-worthiness may be attributed to my need to say something, but being unable to. I guess I'll just have to pull out my "real" journal later. Ha. For now, I'll just leave you with these thoughts... and maybe, they'll lead to more thoughts. Hooray!

Physical Fitness... what?!?!

Since when did I start jogging? I mean, I have always HATED running with a burning fiery passion. It didn't seem to have a point. And then one day, I realized that it wouldn't hurt me to get a bit more exercise than walking around campus (which is more exercise than it was formerly for music students due to The Flood). So, I dressed in work-out clothes and walked down the hallway to the fitness center. I've been keeping track of my jogging for about a month.

Total Time: 4 hrs, 58mins, 23 sec
average session: 24.8 mins

Total Miles: 24.93 miles
average session: 2.0775 miles

Total Calories: 2,538 cal
average session: 211.5 cal

I'm pretty excited about that; it feels really good and I feel strong after I jog. Within my time today, I ran a mile of 10:23. That is 6 seconds slower than my fastest physical fitness test mile. That result makes me think that I could do better if I knew I wasn't go to run another 1.5-ish miles. I could push harder, I know it. Anyway, it makes me so proud of myself.

Annnnnnnd to undo it all, chips and salsa are calling my name. :)
Catch you later!

Poignant

I guess I have a thing for one-word titles. This particular one most accurately sums up the thoughts that have passed through my head today. No, I'm not talking about football. Rather, I'm talking auto racing, which is one of my favorite hobbies (being a fan...NOT driving!). Ten years ago, on October 31st, I watched with the rest of the racing world as a young driver lost his life doing what he loved most. Google "Greg Moore" and numerous tributes will appear which I feel clearly indicate his importance to the auto racing world.

I challenge you, my dear reader(s), to find one of these tributes and read it. Think about what each writer says. This young man left a wonderful legacy behind him. Will you be remembered as he is? The greatest compliment would be to be remembered in such a way as Greg Moore.

I've remembered.
